The Thames Tideway Tunnel project is a major Thames Water infrastructure project in London. The project involves upgrading London’s sewerage system to increase capacity and avoid foulwater discharges into the river.
The centrepiece of the project is the Thames Tunnel, an 8m diameter, 25km (16mile) long, tunnel to be bored under the Thames through central London. This will connect to existing sewers at a series of combined sewer overflows (CSOs) along the river.
MJ Rees has deployed its full spectrum of skills in aid of the Tideway project. From contextual topographic and buried services surveys around the CSOs, to 3D laser scanning of affected buildings to brick-by-brick surveys of the river wall. We have provided a large amount of our expertise to the Tideway project.
